Atlanta Braves (Hale) at Washington Nationals (Zimmermann)
Atlanta took two of three in Milwaukee and unlike just about every other closer in baseball, Craig Kimbrel locked down both his save opportunities. There isn’t an extensive history with Atlanta and Jordan Zimmermann, but he did own them last year in a couple of starts. I would probably shy away from Braves hitters as well as starter David Hale.
Washington took all three games from the Mets (yay!) to start the season and scored 22 runs in those three games. There’s no history between the Nats and Atlanta starter David Hale but they are swinging the bats fairly well right now so there is still good value on this team. I also don’t mind Zimmermann, seeing as he’s one of the few elite pitchers throwing today yet is eighth in cost.
Anthony Rendon (2B) – $5665
Ian Desmond (SS) – $6720
Jordan Zimmermann (SP) – $15,707
