MLB Power Rankings Week 15

Stephen Vogt

26. San Diego Padres (39-49) (LW 27)Tyson Ross is getting a well-deserved honor with his first all-star selection. Though he has just a 7-8 record, he has a 2.93 ERA in 116.2 innings.

27. Chicago Cubs (38-48) (LW 28) – Were it not for the blockbuster trade this week, the Cubs would have actually had two stars in this game. Now, they’ll have to settle for just Starlin Castro, who has firmly established himself as one of the N.L.’s top three shortstops.

28. Arizona Diamondbacks (37-53) (LW 30) – While there’s not much going right for Arizona, there is still Paul Goldschmidt, who’s getting the start. He’s hitting .310/.398/.554 and his 3.7 WAR is the league’s fifth-best.

29. Philadelphia Phillies (37-51) (LW 25) – 35-year-old Chase Utley is back in the All-Star Game for the first time since 2010 and looks like he’s back in his prime. His .287 average is his best since 2008 and his 24 doubles place his seventh in the N.L.

30. Houston Astros (36-54) (LW 29)Jose Altuve is a clear all-star and he could get some company from his Houston team if Astros fans come together. Dallas Keuchel, who is 8-5 with a 3.06 ERA and three complete games, is one of five players a part of the A.L. Final Vote.
