MLB Power Rankings Week 15

MLB’s best team this season, the Oakland Athletics, is again atop the XN Sports power rankings. For the second straight week, Oakland is the number one team in baseball. But that was even before the deal of the season.

General manager Billy Beane didn’t wait for the trade deadline to approach to make his move. In an uncharacteristically vulnerable American League, Beane made a giant splash by trading for Cubs’ starters Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel. The A’s are now leaps and bounds ahead of the rest of the league and could remain in the top spot for quite some time.

The other big news of the week is the unveiling of the All-Star teams. On Sunday night, the American League and National League squads were named, and all 30 teams, as good or bad as they are, will be represented next week.
