3. Argentina
An unfortunate but inevitable loss to Germany was heartbreaking for the Argentinians. Their performance in the World Cup earned them the number three spot on this power rankings list.
They didn’t earn number two, despite coming in second place, simply because their offense just couldn’t get it going.
An offense that contains Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero, Gonzalo Higuain and Angel Di Maria sounds unstoppable. However, only eight goals in eight games doesn’t sound too convincing.
As a team they boast the highest amount of attacks initiated but their finishing was abysmal with only 60 percent of their shots hitting the target.
Possession wise they were second best in the tournament, but that didn’t help them much against a German team that passed the ball better than Argentina.
