March Madness: All-time Tournament Favorites

1991 UNLV Runnin’ Rebels

Coached by the late Jerry Tarkanian, UNLV went 34-1 in the 1990-91 season and returned to the Final Four looking for its second straight title. Greg Anthony, Larry Johnson, Anderson Hunt and Stacey Augmon were the stars on a team that had only one win that came by less than double-digits and entered the NCAA Tournament as the prohibitive favorite.

UNLV faced Duke in the national semifinals and few people gave the Blue Devils much of a chance to avenge their loss to the Rebels in the 1990 national title game. This one came down to the wire and Duke outlasted UNLV, 79-77, en route to the National Championship.
