Week 5 NFL Power Rankings

Philip Rivers

20. New York Giants (Last week: 26)

The Giants are … back? Eli Manning has played lights out in recent weeks, and the revamped front four is generating pressure like the Giants’ defenses of old, which is allowing the rest of the defense to make plays.

If the Eagles and Cowboys are the class of the NFC East, I give the Giants a fighting chance.

What to know: Manning has four games with 300 yards passing and four touchdowns. In the Super Bowl era, all other Giants quarterbacks have a total of two — Phil Simms and Kerry Collins.
