Week 5 NFL Power Rankings

Philip Rivers

16. Houston Texans (Last week: 19)

We have to start considering J.J. Watt as a legitimate MVP candidate, as he single-handedly has made an impact in every one of the Texans’ wins this season.

The Texans are beating who they should beat, which is similar to what the Colts are doing. When these two AFC South rivals go head to head, we should see just how close this divisional race will be.

What to know: Watt, who caught a TD pass against the Raiders two weeks ago, is only the second player since the NFL-AFL merger in 1970 with a TD reception and a pick-six in the same season, according to Elias Sports. Mike Vrabel did that in 2005.
