1. Los Angeles Angels (87-55) (Last Week 1) – The Angels started their week being swept by the Astros in a two-game series. They then bounced back to sweep the Twins in four games, outscoring them 34-19. It’s L.A.’s third straight sweep of a four-game series.

2. Baltimore Orioles (83-59) (LW 2) – Nelson Cruz hit safely in six of seven games this month. In those, he hit .407 with four homers and 12 RBIs, includes a two-homer, seven-RBI game on Sunday.

3. Los Angeles Dodgers (81-62) (LW 3) – All but four of L.A.’ remaining games are against the NL West, including six against second place San Francisco, which is three-games back. The Dodgers are 40-21 against their division rivals this season, the best record of any MLB team against its own division.

4. Washington Nationals (80-61) (LW 5) – Adam LaRoche has been leading the Nationals’ charge this month. He has hits in three of five September games with four home runs and 10 RBIs.

5. San Francisco Giants (78-65) (LW 6) – Buster Posey is swinging as hot a bat as anyone in baseball. Since August 21st, he is 33-for-67 with seven home runs. He reached base safely in all but two of those 16 games.
