Cleveland Indians (Salazar) at Detroit Tigers (Verlander)
Danny Salazar has undoubtedly a high strike out arm but he hasn’t reached six innings in either of his starts yet this year. Going on the road in Detroit is not ideal for going deep in a game so despite how much I like his arm, I’ll stay away today. I’ll also stay away from most Cleveland hitters facing Justin Verlander as well.
Carlos Santana (3B) – $4547
I’m a bit of a fan of Verlander today especially because his price doesn’t put him among the truly elite. The problem with Verlander is he’s not striking out a lot of guys. That also presents a good value upside, because he should eventually. I would stay away from most hitters against Salazar, though.
Justin Verlander (SP) – $18,840
