Colorado Avalanche at Vancouver Canucks
Colorado has gone eight straight games without a regulation loss (7-0-1) and having done so without Matt Duchene is fairly impressive. A big reason for this has been Semyon Varlamov, who has allowed more than two goals against just once in his last nine games. The power play has also gone along at 20.8-percent in their last six games overall which is a good sign considering they’re without arguably their top offensive player.
Vancouver has lost four of their last five games but the team defense has been a little bit better than it has been for most of the year: The team has given up fewer than 26 shots on goal on average over their last five games. They do have most of their players healthy and that has been a rarity for this year. I don’t really trust this team, but Eddie Lack makes an interesting choice for GPPs in net.
I don’t know which way to go on this one so I’ll probably just avoid the game completely. I would avoid the high-priced players in this one, as there has been just nine goals scored in the two games these two teams have played this year.
