Daily Fantasy Hockey DFS Value Update – April 10

Senators

New Jersey Devils at Ottawa Senators

New Jersey has also been eliminated from playoff contention and so it will be interesting to see how they handle their young guys and their goalies the rest of the way. There was already talk today from morning practice about sending players to Albany to help their AHL team in the playoff race. Keep an eye on Daily Faceoff about how this will work out.

New Jersey has just four goals in their last four games and just two power play goals in their last nine. I know they’re going up against one of the worst defensive teams in the NHL but I just don’t have a good read on this squad right now.

The Senators have scored 11 goals in their last three games and are generating a pile of opportunities at the opposition. Sure, they’ve given up 10 goals in return with a minus-3 shot differential in those games as well, but no one will say that they don’t make hockey interesting. Of note is that Patrick Wiercioch has solidified himself on their top power play unit and can provide a lot of value if they can get going tonight.

There have been 14 total goals scored in two games between these two teams this year with each home team taking a 5-2 win. I don’t know how much effort we get out of both teams, but I do like the Sens to put away a few tonight, making some of their skaters good 50/50 plays.
