Daily Fantasy Hockey DFS Value Update – April 1

Tyler Seguin

Dallas Stars at Washington Capitals

Dallas has won four of their last five games and that recent stretch has put them just one point out of a playoff spot. Winger Valeri Nichushkin has gone back to playing regularly on the top line with Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin. One problem that the Stars have run into is their penalty killing; over the last four games, the team has allowed four power play goals against. If the team gets lit up on the power play, it doesn’t affect their players that much, but it does make Kari Lehtonen a shaky goalie to use tonight. As always, Alex Chiasson makes a decent value play.

The Caps have lost four of their last five games and four of their last five games have gone to a shootout. It’s quite the stretch that they’re on.

For the Caps to have success, they’ll need to convert a couple of times on the power play. I don’t know if I’d risk Ovechkin in this one, but the peripheral guys might not be a bad idea. Also, for some reason, Jay Beagle continues to center Alex Ovechkin on the top line. Hey, there’s worse out there.

This could be a high-scoring game as both teams are fighting for their playoff lives. I would focus on the power plays of both teams and leave the goaltenders alone.
