Daily Fantasy Hockey DFS Value Update – April 1

Tyler Seguin

Florida Panthers at New York Islanders

Florida played last night in New Jersey and lost 6-3. They’ve now been outscored 13-4 in their last three games and 27-9 in their last seven games. Oddly enough though, at the start of March this team was forced to play a back to back on the road and go into Long Island on the second game, a game they won 5-3. I’m not sure how much of that couldn’t be attributed to Anders Nilsson, the Islanders AHL goalie (or one of them). Despite that game a month ago, I can’t in good conscience rely on this team in any way for DFS.

The Islanders are actually 4-1-1 over their last six games and were above .500 for the month of March. The big news is whether Kyle Okposo will be playing today as he’s missed some time recently with a mysterious lower-body injury. If he’s out, I don’t like the Islanders’ prospects as much tonight. One thing the team has done is limit opponents to under 30 shots on goal in seven of the last 10 games.

Either way, this game is a total wash. I don’t think I could rely on either goalie tonight so much like the Calgary/Toronto game, I would avoid them both and just pick at some value plays to help round out GPP lineups.
