San Jose Sharks at Los Angeles Kings The marquee matchup of the night is also the last game of the night, as both San Jose and Los Angeles are in the top four in the NHL so far this year. These two teams have met twice already this year, one a 3-2 shootout win for San Jose, one a 4-3 overtime win for Los Angeles. These two teams are so well-matched that they may as well call this the PB&J game. The 11 goals scored in the previous two matchups is actually quite a bit considering both teams are in the bottom-third of the league in goals allowed/game. What I would say is that this is a game that both teams “get up” for, and that can result in more goals than we might expect. The Thornton and Kopitar lines only combined for two of those 11 goals in their previous matchups, and one of those came on the power play. In fact, there were six power play goals scored in those two games. I would grab players on their respective special teams, but would avoid the goaltenders; this game is too close to call to rely on one of the goalies.
