Boxing: Manny Pacquiao’s Top 5 Potential Next Opponents

Manny Pacquiao

5. Mike Alvarado

Ladies and gentleman, this is, unfortunately, yet another name thrown out there by Top Rank.

Alvarado is coming off a loss to Manny’s arch-rival, Juan Marquez, who absolutely obliterated Alvarado in their WBO International Welterweight Championship bout in May.

Mile High has had a successful career and been a dominant fighter at times, but seems to be on the back nine of his career, having lost three of his last four contests.

Plus, it doesn’t seem to make sense for Pacquiao to fight a guy who recently lost to Marquez, Provodnikov and even Brandon Rios.

But hey, the field is the field.

Hopefully, Pacquiao’s November bout doesn’t resort to Alvarado as this will be a very poor PPV draw.

JMM or Khan are probably Pacquiao’s best bet for decent PPV numbers.
