Daily Fantasy Hockey DFS Value Update – March 11

Claude Giroux

Edmonton Oilers at Minnesota Wild

Edmonton has a 2-2-1 record since the Olympic break and that actually isn’t that bad for this team. Of course, they have averaged getting outshot by over eight shots per game so not much has really changed for this team. The only difference is that goaltender Ben Scrivens has saved 93.8-percent of shots since coming over to Edmonton so he’s single-handedly keeping this team afloat. Nail Yakupov is now on a line with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Taylor Hall is with Sam Gagner so there are some values to be had on this team. With that said, they still suck.

Minnesota has gone 3-1-1 since the Olympic break but most notably, only one of those games has gone over five total goals. While they’re winning games, they’re not scoring a lot and the other teams aren’t scoring much on them. They have scored a power play goal in eight of their last ten games dating back to before the Olympics so it’s not a complete wasteland. The upper-echelon players are a bit too expensive to justify putting them in 50/50 lineups though. There are value plays to be had, instead.

This is the third meeting between the two teams this year and the Wild have taken the first two by a 7-1 score. Scrivens should prevent the Wild from filling the net but Minnesota should still take this one. Goaltender Darcy Kuemper (if he starts) would be a good play in 50/50 or head to head games tonight.
