Daily Fantasy Hockey DFS Value Update – March 11

Claude Giroux

Detroit Red Wings at Columbus Blue Jackets

The holes down the middle are really starting to show for Detroit. Since losing Pavel Datsyuk (with Henrik Zetterberg already out), the team has gone 1-2-1 with 14 goals against. Things got worse yesterday as the team found out that Joakim Andersson will be out at least a couple of weeks with a broken foot. Their number one centre is David Legwand, whom they acquired on deadline day, and their number two centre is… maybe Riley Sheahan? A team can only survive so many injuries and this team has been absolutely decimated.

Columbus was the opponent of Dallas last night, the game where Stars forward Rich Peverley collapsed on the bench. If you haven’t heard about it, Peverley is doing well in hospital but it was a frightening scene at the time. The game was subsequently postponed.

The Blue Jackets have won four of their last five games (the lone blemish a 6-1 whitewash to Chicago) and seem like a team that is ready for a final playoff push. I’m not sure how they perform coming off the game last night as it was a very scary and very eerie event at the time. These guys are professionals, though, so hopefully last night is behind them.

I think this is a good game for Sergei Bobrovsky tonight. He’s played well for the most part coming out of the break and has been absolutely stellar against the Red Wings the last couple of years. Goalie Bob is probably my favorite 50/50 goaltender play tonight and I’ll be picking apart at the Blue Jackets for 50/50 skater plays.
