Baseball Life: A November to Remember

In this episode of the podcast, Felipe (twitter, @pathological_h8) discusses some of the major storylines of the 2018 World Series between the Boston Red Sox and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Before he dives in to the Fall Classic, he discusses some of the topics of discussion the Baseball Life Facebook group which include, but not limited to:

–Baseball and politics: why “sticking to sports” is nearly impossible when the sport itself is enveloped in politics. We discussed how donating money to certain politicians might do more harm than good to the sport, especially those who support racially dividing rhetoric while the sport of baseball continues to also champion the life of Jackie Robinson.
–Angels pitcher/hitter Shohei Ohtani sharing his thoughts on the great Babe Ruth and how he used analytics to put The Babe’s career in perspective.
–Hall of Fame voting and the chances we will see a major leaguer get inducted by unanimous vote. Will Mariano Rivera succeed in achieving this goal?
–We looked back at a couple of baseball anniversaries being celebrated this past weekend, including a young player-manager being trusted to lead a group of men and a young Latino player winning the rookie of the year.
–Commenting on a pitcher of Ty Cobb meeting kids battling polio and wondering how far are we from seeing the same photograph with a modern baseball player.
–Discussing the rigors of a minor league baseball player trying to make ends meet as we highlight the Effectively Wild Podcast interviewing Chicago Cubs’ farmhand, Connor Myers.
–Using swing and contact rates’ data to draft the best starting pitchers available in fantasy baseball.
–Is Chris Sale the best pitcher in baseball moving forward? And what to make of his former Chicago White Sox teammate Carlos Rodon?
–The Boston Red Sox are the champions, but they had to go through plenty of trials and tribulations to get to the peak of the baseball mountain.
–Pitching staff concerns, bot in the rotation and in the bullpen entering the 2018 MLB playoffs
–The best outfield in baseball played in Boston this past year
–What went right for the Los Angeles Dodgers in the regular season and what went wrong for them in the World Series
–And ode to Dave Roberts who had to overcome a lot of injuries and this past year and had to come up with creative ways to continually put up a competitive lineup this past season.
–Red Sox strength in versatility and depth helped them overcome their weaknesses
–When fans overreact to managerial decisions
–Figuring out the craziness that was Game 3 of the 2018 World Series
