2019 Fantasy Baseball Post Draft Talk

Recorded March 20

In this episode of the podcast, Felipe and Mario reunite to talk about their strategies at certain positions coming into the Baseball Life Fantasy Baseball League.

The league is a 12-team, 30-player, head-to-head categories’ league. In this episode, much of the focus was given to the catchers as this is a two-catcher league. The guys discuss strategy and thought process going into this draft as they both were looking to get an edge at this very perilous position.

The discussion then led to talks about the top 20 starting pitchers coming into this season and how shaky the position can for a wide variety of reasons as drafting any of these guys do come with inevitable risks.

We then moved on to second base, a position with relative depth that caused a late run of players at that position in the draft. Conversely, at shortstop, it is a very top heavy position and we experienced an aggressive run in the early rounds for this position.

The guys also talked about the risk and rewards of drafting high end prospects as a successful rookie campaign from these guys might make or break your season.

Finally, the guys finish the show discussing their draft preparation routines and what process they follow to set up their draft rankings every season.
