Top 5 Running Backs In The 2015 NFL Draft

Todd Gurley

2. Melvin Gordon, Wisconsin

While Gurley is ranked ahead of Gordon in the positional rankings, Gordon has a chance to be picked ahead of his counterpart because he’ll be ready to suit up as early as Week 1. And that’s what you expect out of a running back drafted in the first round.

Last season Gordon racked up almost 2,600 yards and 29 touchdowns for the Badgers as one of the most dynamic running backs in college football. He’s more of a one-cut then run type of back who illustrated good patience before bursting through the hole. He excels running outside the tackles rather than in between them.

Teams interested in Gordon will have to work with the soon-to-be rookie on ball security. Gordon has a bit of a fumbling problem, having a dozen a year ago and losing the ball seven times. Hey, Tiki Barber had that same issue, too, and he got over it.
