Indianapolis Colts
The Colts offense has improved drastically as Andrew Luck continues to march toward becoming an elite NFL signal-caller. What’s plagued the offense, however, is the lack of a true running back behind him.
The team traded for Trent Richardson from the Browns in 2013, but the former No. 3 overall pick has never lived up to the billing in a Colts jersey. Richardson has averaged less than 3.2 yards per attempt over the past season-plus with Indy, and was outplayed by veteran Ahmad Bradshaw earlier this season.
Imagine how dangerous Indianapolis could be with the likes of Luck, Peterson and T.Y. Hilton. It would make it nearly impossible for opposing defenses to put eight or nine men in the box, while setting up a filthy play-action passing game. Even at 30, Peterson is far and away a better backfield option than Richardson.
