While we’re considering all these alternative landing spots for Peterson, the Vikings have publicly stated they want their running back to return. It’s not that crazy, you know.
Peterson has been the running back behind the likes of Brett Favre, Tarvaris Jackson, Christian Ponder and Matt Cassel, and now has a chance to be a part of a budding offense with rookie Teddy Bridgewater at the helm. With the likes of Cordarrelle Patterson and Jerick McKinnon, there could be something special brewing in the Twin Cities.
Some Hall of Fame players prefer to stick it out with one team their entire careers, and perhaps that’s something that would appeal to Peterson. No city loves him more than Minnesota, where he was drafted, starred in and won an MVP trophy for. The city has shown support for Peterson throughout his current off-the-field drama, so why not return to the Vikings for 2015 to give them another shot at the postseason.
