6. St. Louis Cardinals (83-67) (LW 7) – According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Matt Holliday has 23 game-winning RBIs this year, topping the MLB by a wide margin.

7. Detroit Tigers (83-66) (LW 9) – Victor Martinez has been one of baseball’s best hitters since the All-Star Break. In that time, he’s hitting .335/.412/.518 and leads the A.L. with 73 hits.

8. Oakland Athletics (83-66) (LW 8) – After losing the first game of their weekend series with the Mariners, the A’s came back to win the last two. That marks the first series win for Oakland in five tries.

9. Kansas City Royals (81-67) (LW 6) The Royals are 1.5 games back of the A.L. Central lead and still hold the second Wild Card spot, but only by a game. Losing three of four to the Red Sox at home was not what they were looking for last week.

10. Pittsburgh Pirates (79-70) (LW 10) – The Pirates turned the majors’ sixth triple play of the year on Sunday against the Cubs. It was also the first triple play in PNC Park history, the team’s first since April of 2009, and the first around-the-horn triple play for Pittsburgh since 1979.
