3. Geno Smith vs. Michael Vick
On Wednesday Vick told reporters he believes he’s still a premier starting quarterback in the NFL, but it’s the sophomore Smith who’s getting 75 percent of the first-team reps.
Smith had a bumpy rookie season, at times struggling to make the simplest of throws and at others helping the Jets to comeback wins. Vick, the 12-year veteran, comes over from Philadelphia where he lost the starting job to Nick Foles.
It’s Smith’s job to lose, but the signing of Vick in free agency is a very possible Plan B for New York, which has postseason aspirations in 2014.
