Phoenix Coyotes at Toronto Maple Leafs These two teams have combined for four goals scored in their last four games combined, oddly enough, all of them 3-1 losses to their opponents. On top of that, these two teams have combined for just three regulation wins in their last 12 games. In short, we should see two very desperate teams hit the ice at the Air Canada Centre tonight. I will be up front and say that there’s really not much evidence that tonight will be a high scoring game; over those 12 games, Phoenix and Toronto have scored one goal or fewer in half those games while their power plays have combined for a whopping 15-percent efficiency. That said, their penalty killing efficiency is just 74.2-percent over those 12 games and Phoenix, especially, has a penchant for taking penalties. On top of that, Toronto goalie James Reimer has allowed fewer than two goals once October 29th, while Phoenix goalie Mike Smith hasn’t done it at all since that exact same date. If we can expect a minimum of five goals in a game – and I do – then there’s a lot of room for upside. I’ll be avoiding both goalies, but I will be grabbing some cheap power play options from both teams.
