With just days until the regular season ends, fantasy owners need to make the most of their final games. That means it’s time to give up on your favorites, end the wait for your sleeper to finally break out, and, dare I say, pick up Nate Robinson. Let’s take a look at who has the hot hand heading into the final two weeks of the season.
Jeff Green (Owned in 66% of Yahoo Leagues): I’ve always found Green to be mediocre but he’s ridiculously hot right now and with Kevin Garnett still sidelined I’d snag him up immediately if he’s available in your league. He has put up double-digit points in 11 straight games and in 27 of his last 31. Over his last eight games he’s averaging 37 MPG, 21.5 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 3.3 APG, 1.9 3PPG, 1.1 SPG, and 1.5 BPG and will help you in every single category.
Jonas Valanciunas (36%): I find it baffling that Valanciunas is available in more than 60% of leagues given that he has been starting since the beginning of the season and has put up double-digit points in 11 of his last 12 games. Over his last seven games, he’s averaging a very consistent 15.4 PPG, 8.7 RPG, 1.3 BPG, and shooting 70% from the floor. Why are you still reading this? Gerald Henderson (63%): Henderson has scored double-digits in 15 straight games and over his last 10 he’s averaging 40 MPG, 24.2 PPG, 4.8 RPG, 3.6 APG, 1.3 SPG, and shooting 52% from the floor. He’s not a huge help in non-scoring categories but you’re not going to do much better than 24 PPG.
Beno Udrih (9%): With Jameer Nelson perpetually injured, Udrih could be a great late-season pickup now that he’s leapfrogged E’Twaun Moore on the Magic depth chart. In his first start of the season on Saturday, Udrih played 41 minutes and put up 20 points, seven rebounds, eight assists, and a steal. He only shot 35% from the floor but got 23 shot attempts which is a promising sign. As long as Nelson is out, Udrih is a great steal.
Nate Robinson (55%):Â Robinson is one of the more overrated players when it comes to fantasy and wildly inconsistent. That said, I don’t hesitate to pick him up for a week or two when he gets hot. He’s blazing right now, putting up 19.3 PPG, 5.5 APG, 1.1 SPG, and 3.5 3PPG over his last four and would make a nice addition to most teams until he inevitably cools down.
Jimmy Butler (20%): With Marco Belinelli day-to-day, Butler could be a nice deeper league pickup while he’s getting the chance to start. In four starts replacing Belinelli, Butler is averaging 43 MPG, 14.3 PPG, 5.8 RPG, 3.3 APG, 2.5 SPG, and 1.3 3PPG. Don’t hesitate to drop him once Belinelli is back though.
Andre Drummond (34%): Drummond missed two months with a back injury but the 19-year-old rookie could be a big help in the final weeks of the season. In his first two games back, he has put up a combined 25 points, 18 rebounds, three blocks, two steals, and is shooting 71% from the floor. He figures to get plenty of minutes in the final two weeks of the season and could be a big help to your fantasy chances.
Randy Foye (36%): My heart is not behind this recommendation but if you need help in the three-point category you don’t need to look beyond the guy who scored eight treys on Saturday against the Nets. He has hit 16 threes in his last five games and is averaging 14.4 PPG over that stretch.
Nikola Vucevic (74%): I typically exclude guys this widely owned but if you’re in one of the 26% of leagues where this guy is available you’re crazy if you leave him out there. Not only is he averaging 12.5 PPG and 11.5 RPG on the season, he’s averaging 15.5 PPG, 13.8 RPG, and 1.3 SPG over his last eight games and puts up a double-double almost every night.
