The Saints got the ball back though and started moving the ball, aided by penalties. On a third down play, Drew Brees threw a sure interception to Earl Thomas that bounced off his hands and into the hands of Robert Meachem whom Brees had underthrown by a good five yards. Rather than a pick, the play was completed for a 52-yard reception, the Saints’ biggest of the day. The Seahawks held up on the next set of downs, holding the Saints to a field goal attempt against the brutal wind. Graham’s 48-yard attempt wasn’t even close and the Seahawks took over at their 38 with less than four minutes left.
