What Each NHL Team Should Be Thankful For This Holiday

Sidney Crosby

Washington Capitals: A defensive system. After allowing 240 goals last season and finishing near the bottom of the league in Corsi-for percentage, the Caps have allowed the second-fewest number of goals in the Metropolitan Division to date. Barry Trotz’s hiring certainly helps that, but so too did beefing up the blue line with Matt Niskanen and Brooks Orpik. Mike Green‘s 62 percent Corsi-for percentage – and even a 56 percent 5-on-5 Corsi-for percentage — also doesn’t hurt.
