There aren’t many stacking options I’m in love with this week, so this article is going to be slightly different from the other weeks. Instead of picking my top two stacks for an expensive stack, mid-priced stack, and low-priced stack, I’m going to choose my top four overall stacks. I will still consider price in these, but the lack of great stacking pieces this week has me cringing at playing more than a couple of these guys. Here are my top stacks
Tom Brady to Rob Gronkowski – If you have the money, you can stack Brady with Brandon LaFell, but because of his price jump, I’m going to shy away from him. This stack is going to be extremely pricy, but they should have a good chance to pay off. Last week they went for three touchdowns and around 80 fantasy points. While I don’t exactly see a repeat of the Patriots game last week, this game could stay close causing the Patriots to throw the entire game. The Broncos are the 8th worst defense against quarterbacks and tight ends in the NFL. The Vegas line is extremely high this week and Brady could hit Gronk for a couple touchdowns this week.
Colin Kaepernick to Anquan Boldin – Kaepernick to Boldin was a great stack last time they played St. Louis and I expect similar results this week. The Rams have the 8th worst pass defense in the NFL according to Pro Football Focus. In week 6 Boldin had nearly 100 yards and a touchdown. The 49ers are projected to score 26.75 by Vegas this week. Boldin is Kaepernick’s top target and should have plenty of opportunities. The extra yards Kaepernick will get from running will just be an added bonus.
Robert Griffin III to Pierre Garcon – RG3 is finally back and I’m expecting a big game. He had a nice start against the Jags before being sidelined until now. He will get his starting job back and gets a nice matchup against Minnesota. I’m going to pair RG3 with Garcon because I think Garcon’s success comes from Griffin. Remember his season last year of over 100 receptions? He had 10 in the one full game RGIII played earlier in the year. I don’t think this is a coincidence. Griffin trusts Garcon unlike the other Redskins quarterbacks. The icing on the cake is that Vegas projects the Redskins to lose, which means they’ll be throwing the ball the entire game. It could be a nice, sneaky stack.
Brian Hoyer to Andrew Hawkins – I’m not a huge fan of Hoyer, but both Hawkins and him are cheap and they get a great matchup against the Bucs defense. Tampa Bay’s defense is the 3rd worst in the NFL against the pass according the Pro Football Focus. Andrew Hawkins generally sees an uptick in targets when Jordan Cameron is out of the lineup, which is the case this week. These two are a strictly GPP stack because they could easily bottom out, but they do have some nice potential for a cheap price.
