Daily Fantasy Hockey DFS Value Update – March 31

Anze Kopitar

Winnipeg Jets at Anaheim Ducks

Now, Winnipeg has lost four of their last six and only has four wins as a team this month. It’s tough teasing out this month for the Jets because they have 10 losses, but each were by two or fewer goals and there are three overtime/shootout losses in there. For as much as the Jets have struggled, the special teams have been a bit absurd on both sides of things for them. Over their last seven games, the power play is 6-for-22 (27.3-percent) and the penalty kill is a pathetic 13-for-19 (68.4-percent). With the special teams being so red hot/ice cold right now, it’s good news for the guys who play both of them for this team (like Andrew Ladd and Bryan Little).

Anaheim has gone 3-0-1 over their last four games but the competition hasn’t exactly been stellar: Florida, Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver. That makes me nervous for them in DFS tonight because it seems they’ve turned the month around a bit, but it’s not certain if it’s because the team is playing better or because they’re playing worse teams. There are still guys providing real good value given their situation so they aren’t to be avoided completely.

These two teams have played twice this year with each team taking a 3-2 win in the other team’s home rink. I expect another relatively low-scoring game but I will say this: If Ondrej Pavelec starts in net for Winnipeg, I’ll be a bit more bullish on Ducks players. I would wait until the goaltender is announced before deciding whether or not to stack some Anaheim players.
