Daily Fantasy Hockey DFS Value Update – March 28

Phil Kessel

Nashville Predators at Dallas Stars

The splits for the Nashville Predators this month are truly something to behold: 25 goals scored in six wins (4.2 goals for/game) and just nine goals scored in eight losses (1.1 goals for/game). The team played last night and won 6-1 against the Buffalo Sabres. They have played three back-to-back situation this month and are 1-2-0 in the second game of those, and 0-2-0 removing Buffalo Sabres games (scoring just one goal in those two games on 61 shots). This is all to say that it’s not looking very good for an offensive outburst from the Predators tonight.

Dallas has to start winning games to get back into a playoff spot and they haven’t been able to do much of that lately, going 2-4-1 in their last seven games. The team has scored just 15 goals in those seven games on 218 shots, or a 6.9-percent shooting rate. The power play has gone along at just a 15.8-percent rate over those seven games (which is actually lower than their seasonal rate of 16.1-percent) while the penalty kill is a paltry 77.3-percent. The team has allowed at least 30 shots in five of those seven games as well. Not only is the offense slowing down, the team defense is getting worse. Not a good combination for a team pushing for the playoffs.

These teams have faced each other three times this year and the home team has won all three games. The kicker is that the visiting team has scored just one goal in each contest and in fact, the Predators had some pretty high percentages for their wins. I like Dallas tonight to get a handful of goals and whoever starts in net for them as well.
