Daily Fantasy Hockey DFS Value Update – March 18

Rick Nash

Dallas Stars at Pittsburgh Penguins

Dallas was absolutely walloped 7-2 in Winnipeg on Sunday night but the more interesting development in that game was that when the third period rolled around, rookie Valeri Nichushkin was back on the fourth line and Erik Cole was up with Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin. Cole has been playing very well of late, as it looks like he’s turned back the clock a bit; he’s scored two goals in his last four games after going 13 straight without finding the back of the net.

Pittsburgh had a really rough weekend by losing two games in regulation to the Philadelphia Flyers. They should have reinforcements coming back though as both James Neal and Chris Kunitz are likely to play tonight (though I would be on the safe side and stay on Twitter or check Left Wing Lock about 20 minutes before puck drop to make sure they actually are). The team still isn’t very deep on defense though so I’m still worried about their goals against.

Dallas shutout Pittsburgh 3-0 in a game in Dallas at the end of January. While I don’t expect a shutout tonight, the line is a bit inflated on the Pittsburgh side for tonight. I obviously won’t be taking either goalie in this game but I would look at cheap power play options from either side.
