Daily Fantasy Hockey DFS Value Update – March 11

Claude Giroux

Phoenix Coyotes at Florida Panthers

Phoenix was in Tampa Bay last night and managed a 4-3 shootout win in a game they probably deserved to lose. Typically, I worry about teams doing the Florida trip because teams from the northern areas can look at these games like mini vacations. I don’t think that concern will be there with a team from Phoenix. The lineup blender came out for Phoenix last night as Martin Hanzal was scratched, rookie defenseman Brandon Gormley made his NHL debut and David Moss was on the top line with Antoine Vermette and Mikkel Boedker. When a coach does that to his lineup, it can provide value opportunities for depth players who might otherwise not be worth anything in DFS.

Florida is just so hard to pick anyone from DFS-wise for the rest of the season. I mean, defenseman Dmitry Kulikov has played well recently, Nick Bjugstad has shown flashes, but this team is so thin across their lineup that even if these players get a point, they can easily go minus-3 and that cannibalizes a lot of points. Other than maybe Roberto Luongo in a GPP or Kulikov as a money-saving play, there really isn’t much here.

I’m not on the Coyotes stack-wise but I do think that they win this game. I would avoid Florida players at all costs, too.
