Matt Duchene

St. Louis Blues at Vancouver Canucks

St. Louis goes into Vancouver for the first time this year and they are riding a seven game winning streak in the process. Over those seven games, the Blues have outscored their opponents 31-12 and if you discount their 6-5 shootout win against Chicago, that number drops to 27-7 in their last six wins. It’s been an incredibly impressive run.

On the flipside of that is Vancouver who has lost five straight games, including home losses to Philadelphia and Tampa Bay, and they haven’t managed more than 30 shots on goal in four straight. That doesn’t bode well playing against a team that is allowing the fourth-fewest shots against/game on the road this season (26.9).

These two teams met back in late October and the result was a 3-2 Vancouver overtime win. That game only feature 45 shots on goal combined, yet two power play goals.

Despite the roll St. Louis has been on, this is back-to-back nights for them and Vancouver has been resting since Tuesday. Even if the Blues outplay them, the Canucks should be rested enough to keep this game close. It could be a low(ish)-scoring affair, so be careful which players you take – I would rely mostly on the power play guys if you decide to pick some players from this game.
