Daily Fantasy Hockey DFS Value Update – February 28

Logan Couture

Minnesota Wild at Vancouver Canucks

Minnesota went into Edmonton last night and shut out the Oilers in a 3-0 win. The team went up 2-0 midway through the second and just put their foot on the throat of the Oilers. That is a positive sign for a team still struggling with injuries and coming out of an extended break on the road. The test gets tougher tonight, though.

Minnesota has just two wins in six games this year when the second game of a back to back is on the road and just one win in the last three months. To make matters worse, Niklas Backstrom should be in net for the Wild tonight and he’s had a pretty bad season. Their top line might be able to neutralize the top line for Vancouver but beyond that it’s a crapshoot.

Vancouver won their first game out of the break 1-0 in a shutout of St. Louis. Even with the travel, that’s a pretty impressive feat for the Canucks. They outshot the Blues 35-20 in that game as well, so the team was generating offense against a team that is pretty good defensively. The Canucks are starting to get healthy and these are all positive signs for them.

I am definitely not leaning Minnesota in this game because of their situation and goaltending. Even with Vancouver generating offense in their last game, they still went 0-for-4 on the power play and managed just one goal. I won’t be stacking the Canucks but they should have some good cash game plays.
