Daily Fantasy Hockey DFS Value Update – February 27

Carolina Hurricanes at Dallas Stars

Carolina lost a tough one on Tuesday night as they grossly outplayed the Buffalo Sabres but had a game stolen from them by Ryan Miller. From a fantasy standpoint, the top two lines in Carolina looked just fine and didn’t show any Olympic rust on them. It’s not confirmed yet but Anton Khudobin should get the start in net tonight for Carolina and that’s a downgrade for Dallas skaters. If, for some reason, it is Cam Ward in net for Carolina then I would be a lot more bullish on the Stars forwards.

Dallas obviously had Jamie Benn, Valeri Nichushkin and Kari Lehtonen in Sochi but Nichushkin was pretty much stapled to the bench and Lehtonen only had one game in goal. For the most part, their players should be rested and ready to go for tonight.

Dallas struggled a bit after Christmas but managed to go 6-1-2 in the nine games leading to Sochi which included wins over Minnesota, Pittsburgh and Anaheim. They also only had one regulation loss in their final six home games heading to the break.

I like Dallas tonight to win but would be more bullish on their players if I knew who was starting for Carolina. If it’s Ward, I might stream Stars at will. If it’s Khudobin, I’ll be a lot more reserved.
