Daily Fantasy Baseball DFS Value Update and Lineup – April 8

Jay Bruce

Pittsburgh Pirates (Morton) at Chicago Cubs (Jackson)

Doc Morton had a very solid outing his first game out this year and he was solid enough against the Cubs last year. One thing Morton has done is eliminate the longball; since the start of 2013, he’s given up less than one home run every 20 innings.

Charlie Morton (SP) – $12,902

Andrew McCutchen (OF) – $6474

Jackson has been much more prone to the longball than Morton but Jackson did a pretty good job at shutting down the Pirates last year. In all likelihood, this is a fairly low-scoring game so the only guy I’ll risk today is someone who has done well against Morton in the past (but we won’t know if he’s in the lineup until later, so I won’t risk him for early sets).

Nate Schierholtz (OF) – $5209
