Tampa Bay Rays (Archer) at Kansas City Royals (Ventura)

Chris Archer had a good outing his first game out and going to pitch in Kansas City probably won’t hurt his numbers. He’s seemingly abandoned his change-up but he’s had a little more velocity on his slider in his first start of the year. This could be devastating against Kansas City’s lefties. I might just avoid the Rays altogether tonight.

Tonight is the debut of Kansas City rookie pitcher Yordano Ventura. If the name isn’t familiar, he can surpass 100 MPH on the radar gun and can have a devastating curveball when he’s throwing it well. Given his price, he’s a must-own today; most people will also have him in the lineup but at his price, there’s not much that can go wrong. Well, maybe a little can go wrong.
