Pittsburgh Pirates (Volquez) at Milwaukee Brewers (Gallardo)

There’s no way I’m ever targeting Volquez unless it’s a shot-in-the-dark prayer play in GPPs so let’s not even start that conversation.

With the way that Gallardo has pitched so far this year, I will probably avoid the Pirates hitters; other than Andrew McCutchen, there’s no one with good sustained success against Gallardo and he’s fairly expensive.

Gallardo, even in his struggle last year, managed to shut down the Pirates with regularity. At his price, and considering the way he’s started the year, I don’t mind him at all today. The hitters may be priced out of realistic use, though.
