Daily Fantasy Baseball Plays for 4/29/17

The ball was flying in Yankee Stadium last night, as Manny Machado hit the longest home run of the season – 470 feet.  Judge had another home run that had the fastest exit velocity of the season. However the real excitement came when the Yankees scored 3 in the 9th to tie and then won it in the 10th. Madison Bumgarner is most likely out until the All Star break.  The Giants were the best team at the All Star break last year, and it doesn’t seem like that will be the case this year.

We have a full slate of games today so let’s get to it.

Low-Scoring Plays

Los Angeles Angels @ Texas Rangers –  The Angels are struggling this season as they are 20th in the league in runs scored.  They are batting .238 as a team and they are batting .232 off of Yu Darvish.  Darvish has 31 K’s in 5 appearances this season.  On the other side, Chavez is 2-3 on the season.  However, he has played well against the Rangers in his career as they have .262 off of him with 4 home runs in 90 at bats.

Targets: Darvish, Napoli, Andrus

Oakland Athletics @ Houston Astros – Andrew Triggs is a pick that I always love.  He is 3-1 on the season with a 2.42 ERA.  The only downfall is he doesn’t strike out a lot of batters.  He averages 15.6 points per game and which is a good play for $6800.  Houston had a strong offensive night last night look for them to be shut down tonight.

Targets: Triggs Plouffe, Vogt

High-Scoring Play

New York Mets @ Washington Nationals – The Mets finally broke their losing streak as they scored some runs without Cespedes.  Two nights ago the Nationals scored 16 runs so it could have been expected that they wouldn’t score a lot last night – if you count 5 as a little. Look for the Nationals to bounceback and jump all over Zach Wheeler.  I even like Strasburg as a play.

Targets: Strasburg, Turner, Harper

Undervalued Plays

Andrew Triggs – SP – OAK – I targeted him above but I love this play.  Greinke was cheap early in the season but now his price has rose.  Look for Triggs to fill this spot where you used to use Greinke.  He is a good pitcher and can give you a solid 20 points any given start.

Robinson Chirinos – C – TEX – Chirinos didn’t play last night so he should be rested up.  For $3000 you can get a catcher batting .364 with 4 homeruns.  If he is in the starting lineup today grab him because he will be a steal.
