Daily Fantasy Baseball Plays for 5/1/17

Pennants can’t be won in the first month, but they can be lost.  The first month of the season is over and there are some teams that look to be in deep water.  The Mets seem to be finished as the news came out today that Thor has a torn Lat Muscle.  On top of that we all saw the beat down that the Nationals gave the Mets yesterday.  Rendon had a monster day and put up 71 points in Draft Kings.  The Nationals look to be the strongest team in the National League.

The Giants also seem to be in trouble as the bats are nowhere to be found and Bumgarner is out until at least the All-Star Break.  The Rockies have been a surprise out of west as they are in first place with sluggers Gonzalez and Story off to slow starts.

Five months of baseball left so nothing is for certain.  But for the Royals, Giants, and Mets, the caution flag is out and their cars are headed to the garage.

There is still a lot of baseball to play and money to be won in DFS so let’s get to it.

Low-Scoring Play

San Francisco Giants @ L.A. Dodgers – This should be the pitching matchup of the day.  It was highlighted above but the Giants bats aren’t there this season.  Cueto seems to be the only thing the Giants really have left so far. On the other side Kershaw is pitching.  Kershaw at home is an automatic ‘game over’ especially with no offense from the Giants.  Kershaw should be a lock.

Targets: Kershaw, Puig

High-Scoring Play

Baltimore Orioles @ Boston Red Sox – The Orioles got beat up against the Yankees this weekend and now are tied in first place.  Porcello is pitching for the Red Sox and he hasn’t been great this year.  It will be tough for him to figure it out against a good Orioles lineup.  Hanley Ramirez has been getting hot and hitting bombs while Benintendi is having a great season.

Targets: Machado, Davis

Undervalued Plays

Flowers – C – ATL – In a game I like the Braves to win, you can get their catcher for $2900.  He is batting .391 on the season which is real strong for a catcher.  He will get on base and score runs against Gsellman who can’t pitch against the Braves.

Bruce – 1B – NYM – The Mets are going to have to score runs, and with Cespedes out, they will have to rely on Bruce.  He is a strong batter, with 7 home runs on the season.  If the Mets have a chance in this game look for it to come from Bruce.

Judge – OF – NYY – Judge has been a force and is the early leader for Rookie of the Year.  Batting over .300 with 10 home runs he should be a lock in your lineup almost everyday until they raise his price.
