The Met fans are hitting the panic button. Syndergaard got scratched due to a tired arm and Cespedes goes down with another hamstring injury. Â These aren’t season-ending injuries but hamstring injuries could be nagging and take a while to fully heal. Â Syndergaard with a tired arm already would scare me a little bit. Â The Mets have dropped 6 in a row and need to begin to figure it out.
The Red Sox failed to give Sale run support again as he let up 1 run and lost the game. Â The Yankees got the best of the Red Sox and shut down the dynamic offense. Â Boston vs. Cubs this week where it should be a fight of the heavyweights.
It’s Free Line up Friday, we have a full slate of games tonight so lets get to it.
Low-Scoring Plays
New York Mets @ Washington Nationals – Just to pile it on the Mets they face one of the best pitchers in baseball. Â Scherzer should dominate this depleted lineup and will be a great play. Â deGrom looks to be one of the sure thing the Mets have this season. Â He should be able to shut down the Nationals.
Targets: Scherzer, Zimmerman
Pittsburgh Pirates @ Miami Marlins – Neither team is having that great of a year offensively. Â Taillon has been playing well averaging 17.5 points per game. Â He has 20 strike outs which will be important against the Marlins. Â Conley takes the mound for the Marlins. Â He isn’t as good as the Taillon but the Pirates are terrible on offense.
Targets: Taillon, McCutchen
High-Scoring Plays
Baltimore Orioles @ New York Yankees – Both these teams have been swinging the bat well. Â With warm weather in New York, and two pitchers who are good but not great this game should be a slugfest. Â The Yankees are a strong team at home and are my favorite to win this game but the Orioles will keep pace.
Targets: Headley, Judge
