5. Corey Seager – SS – Los Angeles Dodgers

The next Cal Ripken Jr.? Or John Olerud? Premature and probably off-base, but they were the players to which Dodgers manager Don Mattingly compared Corey Seager. The younger brother of Mariners’ third baseman Kyle Seager, Corey is currently slated as a shortstop, but the 6-foot-4 prospect may end up sliding to third base in the long run.

A solid combination of contact and power, the 20-year-old has clearly made an impression on his manager. The only roadblock is the potential position change, as he is still young enough to learn his craft at the lower level before reaching the Majors. If an opening appears, however, his bat is too valuable to ignore.
