2015’s Top Ten Most Anticipated MLB Debuts

6. Joey Gallo – 3B – Texas Rangers

Third baseman Joey Gallo is the least likely candidate on this list to see Major League action this year, but the reports of his epic power and large frame are too salivating to ignore. The slugger crushed 21 home runs in 68 Double-A games, with an average of one home run for every 11.9 at-bats. Houston’s Chris Carter led all Major League hitters in 2014 with one home run every 13.7 at-bats.

If the Rangers’ season goes as poorly as expected, the bright spot may come in the form of a September callup for the franchise’s top prospect. Then again, his potential may cause the organization to hesitate, waiting one more season and prolonging the ‘clock’ on his eventual free agent or arbitration eligibility.
