Top seeds to clash in Super Bowl
With the win, Russell Wilson will become the first quarterback in NFL history to start two Super Bowls within his first three seasons in the league. And now Seattle is the first defending champion to return to the Super Bowl since — none other than the Patriots, who did so back in 2004.
Belichick is heading to his sixth Super Bowl, tied for most all-time along with Don Shula. And New England will be making its eighth Super Bowl appearance, which is tied with Dallas and Pittsburgh for most all time.
Despite playing on a neutral field, Seattle is already a slight favorite over the Patriots. The stingy Seahawks defense will have its hands full against the multi-dimensional Patriots offense. On the other end of the spectrum, the Patriots defense, which limited Luck to seven points, now must find a way to slow down Wilson and Lynch, who were quieted through nearly four quarters before bouncing back in crunch time to earn the overtime win.
Just two more weeks to the Super Bowl, which has the makings of a true classic.
