Patriots continue to dominate Luck, Colts
New England may have looked vulnerable a week ago against Joe Flacco‘s Ravens, but the AFC’s top seed played accordingly against the Colts on Sunday. The Patriots’ 45-7 victory marked the largest postseason margin of victory in team history and the second-most lopsided win in a AFC Championship game ever.
Tom Brady threw for three touchdowns and postseason star LeGarrette Blount rushed for three more in the rout. Conversely, Andrew Luck was held in check to the tune of 12-for-33 passing, 126 yards, two interceptions and no touchdowns. In four meetings against Luck’s Colts, New England has outscored them 175-73.
With the win, Brady became the first quarterback with 20 wins in the postseason and Belichick’s 21st puts him ahead of Tom Landry for the most ever by a coach. Brady moved ahead of Peyton Manning for most career passing yards in the postseason. And now the storied head coach and quarterback are heading back to the Super Bowl for the sixth time.
