Bowles, McDaniels, Gase Should be First on the Hiring Line on Black Monday

Adam Gase

Head Coach David Shaw, Stanford — Prior to landing the Stanford head coaching job, Shaw was an NFL assistant and he knows the professional game. He has thrived as a head coach at the college level, and he has the big picture in the front of his mind and knows how to lead a team.

College coaches have a strong reputation around the NFL today, especially considering the job that Chip Kelly has done with the Eagles after leaving Oregon. Shaw’s strength is his all-around knowledge and he can build a defense in addition to putting together an effective offense. He is impressive in the interview process, and his time could come next season.
