Bowles, McDaniels, Gase Should be First on the Hiring Line on Black Monday

Adam Gase

Offensive Coordinator Adam Gase, Denver Broncos – When Peyton Manning is the quarterback, the tendency is to dismiss the offensive coordinator as a legitimate coaching candidate. It seems that Manning calls the plays, and decides when to audible on his own. While he will change out of plays based on what he sees at the line of scrimmage, Manning and Gase are constantly in discussion about offensive philosophy and play-calling, and Gase often gets his way.

It’s not because he wins arguments with Manning, it’s that the two come to an agreement and they have a collaborative relationship. Gase is a sharp thinker and he communicates well. It would be easy for him to just go along with Manning, but the two have a solid partnership and that speaks well of Gase’s potential as an NFL head coach.
