5. Eagles winning all three phases of the game
While the offense will always garner the most attention in Philadelphia, the defense and special teams have keyed the Eagles for most of the 2014 season. The Eagles rank first in special teams DVOA, according to Football Outsiders, with league-best marks in points estimated from kick returns (13.9) and punt returns (16.9).
The Eagles have two kickoff returns for touchdowns, two punt returns for touchdowns, and a large part of that is the presence of Darren Sproles, who has accounted for both punt return scores and has averaged 14.5 yards per return on a career-high 33 chances this year.
Defensively, the defense has been up and down all year, but the pass rush came through in a big way against the stout Dallas offensive line.
The Eagles sacked Tony Romo four times, picked him off twice and held him to under 200 yards passing and without a touchdown pass in the 33-10 rout.
