7 Takeaways From Week 5 In The NFL

Colts, Cowboys, Saints notch important wins

Indianapolis, Dallas, and New Orleans mustered up big-time victories on Sunday. The Colts reeled off their third in a row, but did so against a potential playoff team after bullying Tennessee and Jacksonville in recent weeks. The win pushed the Colts to 3-2 and into a first-place tie with the Texans for the AFC South. Not surprisingly, those two teams square off in Week 6.

The Cowboys kept on rolling with an overtime win over those aforementioned Texans, as DeMarco Murray and Tony Romo continued their stellar seasons with a 20-17 triumph. Those Cinderella Cowboys continue to shock the NFL world.

And the Saints were on the brink of falling to 1-4 as the Buccaneers rolled into the Superdome and scored 24 unanswered to take a 24-13 lead in the third quarter. But Brees and Co. roared back, scoring 11 points in the fourth quarter to force overtime. Then Khiry Robinson rumbled into the end zone on an 18-yard touchdown run to essentially keep the Saints’ 2014 season alive, moving into a second-place tie with Atlanta in the NFC South.
